To the Patrons of TFC Schools, At this time I would like to give the TFC community an update on the progress of the construction project. All bids for the project have been awarded with the good news that the bids have come in well under the sum of the projections. This will enable the school to look at additional technology, and projects to enhance the original parameters of the project. Details of these projects have not been finalized at this time. Once they are updates will be forthcoming. As most know the old gymnasium has be torn down to make way for the new elementary school. Construction on this building will keep moving forward, and foundation dirt work is progressing at this time. The Stadium, Track, and Field projects are set to begin soon and will hopefully be complete for the fall semester. Due to school not being in session, the auditorium west side, (Band room, Vocal room, two regular classrooms and restrooms) will begin remodeling early, making them ready for the fall semester. This will allow us to have less of a displacement of classes and students starting the fall semester.
Dear Parents, Students, and Patrons of TFC Schools: This week marks the beginning of a new and unexpected experience for Oklahoma students, teachers and school staff. Although we did not anticipate ending the year this way, I am proud of the distance learning plan TFC Schools has developed to allow students to learn from home. We know this change is difficult, and there is sadness about missing or delaying special events and activities. During this time, students and their families can count on the support of the school, both academically and emotionally. While this health crisis has presented many challenges, it also has given us opportunities to help one another. Thomas Fay Custer Schools gathered supplies district wide to donate to area nursing homes. The Child Nutrition program, with the tremendous effort of the Cafeteria Staff, Bus Drivers, Teacher Aids, and Volunteers is also feeding 200 plus students each day. And finally, our staff completed the massive task of developing a distance learning plan in just a matter of days. On behalf of the TFC Board and administration, I commend and thank all school employees for their hard work and commitment. The next few weeks will unveil a temporary new normal for us all. Kitchen tables will double as classroom/office spaces and our world will be limited to the walls of our own homes. I would like to thank parents for partnering with the district on this journey. While they will be assisting their children in person, they will not be alone. Teachers will be just a phone call, email or videoconference away. We are fortunate to serve a community that values public education and understands that flexibility is necessary to meet the needs of students. A school is not a building; it is a family of caring, knowledgeable professionals making a difference for students every day. Our district is home to the best, and they will finish the school year strong. On behalf of the Board of Education and Administration, thank you for your support of Thomas-Fay-Custer Schools. Sincerely, Rob Royalty Superintendent TFC Schools
